Tarragona marinas: Nàutic Tarragona and Marina Port Tarraco

Tarragona city brings together two radically different boating profiles: Nàutic Tarragona, aimed at leisure boats from 6 to 20 metres, and Marina Port Tarraco, designed for deep-draft superyachts with berths up to 160 metres. One area guide explains both without mixing them.

This page expressly keeps the figures for each concession separate. We do not add capacities together or present Port Tarraco as if it were a conventional small-boat marina.

OPERATIONBuying with local context

The boat’s exact location, documentation, access to haul-out facilities and the possibility of a sea trial should be checked before any deposit is committed.

TECHNICALUseful infrastructure

The actual capacity of cranes, travel lifts, dry storage and workshops determines how a survey or refit can realistically be organised.

LOGISTICSDeparture and handover

Road access, coastal navigation and links with other Tarragona ports are assessed according to LOA, beam, condition and the vessel’s destination.

01 · THE MARINA

Two marinas, two scales and one port city

Institutional and operator data explained from the perspective of a purchase, sale, pre-purchase survey or practical boat ownership.

Nàutic Tarragona publishes 441 berths for boats between 6 and 20 metres, with 6 metres of depth, water and shore-power points and controlled pontoon access. Its location next to the city and railway station makes it a practical base for leisure boating and purchase viewings.

Within the same port area operates Marina Port Tarraco, a completely different facility. Its current berth plan publishes 32 berths from 45 to 160 metres and more than 9 metres of depth, with high-capacity electrical supply, wastewater collection, 24-hour security and services specifically aimed at crew and superyachts.

Port Tarraco also works with specialist suppliers and mentions cooperation with PTW Shipyards for vessels up to 45 metres and 250 tonnes. When a transaction involves a large yacht, the approach to survey, documentation, crew, insurance and tax can be very different from that of a conventional leisure boat.

For medium-sized boats, Nàutic Tarragona offers a fuel station, laundry, Wi-Fi, changing rooms, harbour office, marina staff and security. The proximity of Reus Airport and rail links can simplify visits by national or international buyers.

The advantage of one combined area page is precisely to make clear which facility fits each need. A 12-metre boat at Nàutic Tarragona and a 70-metre superyacht at Port Tarraco share the same city, but not the same operations or equivalent services.

02 · INVENTORY

Boats in Tarragona marinas

We show only boats whose published location genuinely matches this area. We do not move listings from a nearby marina simply to populate a local landing page.

03 · BUY

Buying a boat in Tarragona marinas

The value of a local guide is not to promise that every service is available, but to know what to confirm before travelling: the boat’s real location, access, documentation, sea trial, haul-out and the professionals required for the inspection.

01

Selection

Use, budget, LOA, propulsion, configuration and expected condition.

02

Viewing

Initial review of the boat, real location, available documents and whether the asking price makes sense.

03

survey

Pre-purchase inspection, sea trial and haul-out where appropriate.

04

Negotiation, contract, documentation, handover and subsequent logistics.

TWO SCALES

From leisure boats to superyachts without mixing the infrastructure

Tarragona is one of the few points on this route where the scale difference between two neighbouring marinas is so large that it deserves explicit explanation.

6–20 m

Nàutic Tarragona

Leisure marina with 441 berths and a published depth of 6 metres.

45–160 m

Marina Port Tarraco

32 deep-water berths prepared for super-, mega- and gigayachts.

CITY

Connectivity

Nearby railway station, Reus Airport and quick access to urban and technical services.

05 · INFRASTRUCTURE

Infrastructure according to the type of vessel

The right question is not which marina is “better”, but which one matches the size and operating profile of the boat.

NÀUTIC

Leisure boats 6–20 m

Water, electricity, fuel station, harbour office, changing rooms, laundry, Wi-Fi and security.

PORT TARRACO

Superyachts

High-capacity shore power, deep water, security, MARPOL services and dedicated crew facilities.

TECHNICAL

Specialist suppliers

The port area brings together companies and services for repair and maintenance at different levels.

LOGISTICS

Urban connections

Tarragona makes travel easier by train, road and Reus Airport.

06 · OWNERS

Selling a boat from Tarragona marinas

To sell a boat properly, its location, history, equipment, maintenance and documentation should be presented coherently. The marina is part of the operating context, not a guarantee of the boat’s condition or value.

01

Preparation

Organise inventory, documentation, photographs, maintenance history and known defects before the boat is marketed.

02

Market

Benchmark the asking price against comparable boats by model, year, propulsion, condition and level of updating.

03

Viewings

Filter buyers and coordinate access, sea trial, survey and closing within realistic timeframes.

09 · FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions about Tarragona marinas

The answers distinguish whole-port data, Club or concession data and the points that must still be confirmed for a specific boat.

The official website publishes 441 berths.

What boat lengths does Nàutic Tarragona accept?

From 6 to 20 metres according to the operator.

What is Marina Port Tarraco?

A marina specialising in superyachts within the Port of Tarragona.

How many berths does Port Tarraco publish?

Its berth plan publishes 32 berths from 45 to 160 metres; the homepage has also shown 33, so confirmed availability and the current plan should prevail for any booking.

Should a 15-metre boat use Port Tarraco?

That is not its usual profile. For this size range, Nàutic Tarragona is the leisure marina reference in this guide.

Can an international yacht transaction be coordinated from Tarragona?

Yes. Connectivity and services help, but documentation, tax, survey and delivery logistics depend on flag, ownership, location and the characteristics of the individual boat.
